USGenWeb® Elections
Elections are conducted annually. Nominations are accepted during the first two weeks of June and voting takes place during the month of July.
Membership in the USGenWeb Project entitles any registered member to register to vote. However, neither local project leadership nor the Election Committee can register a member to vote. You must register yourself at https://usgwelections.org/Register.cfm. To be eligible to vote in a given annual election, you must have registered to vote prior to June 1st of that year.
Members of the Advisory Board are elected by the membership of the Project as follows:
National Coordinator (NC): Elected for a one year term. Must be nominated and elected each year. Every registered member has the right to vote for this position.
Representative at Large (RAL): Elected for two year term. Every registered member has the right to vote for this position.
Special Project Representative (SPAR SA, SPIP KZ, etc.): Elected for a two year term by the members of the National Special Projects.
Regional Representatives (One State Coordinator Representative and Two County Coordinator representatives for each region) are elected to two year terms. The terms for the four regions (NENC, NWPL, SEMA, SWSC) are staggered so that in each region, at least one of the three positions representing each region will be elected each year.
National Issues: All registered members are eligible to vote on any issue that affects the Project as a whole that is placed on the ballot of any annual or special election or poll.
